CRIMINAL PROPERTY DAMAGE
Wednesday, July 7
Ohia Estates
between noon and about 5pm
A resident reports:
"We came home to find the window screen removed and smashed from our kitchen window and our pick axe
moved from the side of the house to just under the same window. This is our only window that is
not visible from the road. Looks like they pried off the screen and tried to get into the house
but failed.
The police classified it as criminal property damage since they did not get into the house and
nothing was stolen from the outside as far as we could tell."
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE
July 6
Amaumau Road
There was a suspicious blue van alternately parking and driving up to houses near the end of Amaumau Road (end of Wright road). License TYI713 or YTI713 was apparently misremembered or the vehicle hasn't been properly registered for a few years, according to the police.
The occupants were observed pulling into driveways, waiting and leaving when they heard a dog or music. This pattern continued until a witness stepped out into the road to show them they were being watched. They promptly drove away.
With diligence, we're going to catch these intruders. Eyes open and cameras ready.
FOLLOW UP:
The van and occupants are further described by the witness.
"It was light blue and had a dent in the door and had a woman and 3 hefty guys in it. It was
more modern like a toyota van so not blocky and square, more sleek lines."
